happy birthday to my dad

It's my dad's birthday today, happy birthday dad. Unfortunatly i have sealed his cards before i could take a picture of them. I'm going over in a bit to drop them off as he is going up to the lakes today to do some camping and fishing.
I'm going to have to get my butt into gear to promoting my shop as it has been really slack lately. It's quite hard selling jewellery as there are so many people who make and sell there own there is alot of competition. I have lost heart in it recently but i've just ordered some handmade lampwork beads, one set from misi and one from folksy so hopefully i'll make some nice piece's with them.

craft fair success

Well my first craft fair was a success. It was a small village hall with 10 sellers there, who were all lovely and i had a really good day chatting to them all. I sold a few things and made a profit which is always good. The lady who set it up, channa, was lovely to and made us sandwiches and soup, mmm yummy, plus we has complimentary cups of tea all day.
After chatting to other stall holders and swapping craft fair events i hopefully have a few more to go to.
Overall i had a great day and i'm looking forwards to the next one.

poorly children

My daughter came down with a temperature 3 days ago which unlike most children when there sick and sleep all the time, my daughter naps through the day and wakes to any sound and doesn't sleep any longer than a hour at a time at night. So needless to say i'm shattered.
My son got a temperature yesterday but was adament he was going to school as he had a school disco afterwards. They both seem ok today so i'm not sure what it was.
I've got my first craft fair on sunday so i'm starting to feel a bit scared. These are a pair of earrings i made last week to take with me.

another set

This is another set i made last night to take to the craft fair with me on sunday. I've also got hubby to get the pasting table out of the shed so i can practice setting up my display.

I'm keeping everything crossed it's a success. It's in cefn village hall which is in north wales not to far from rhyl and prestatyn. I'll be down in my caravan for the weekend so it's not to far to drive too although hubby will have to drive home afterwards as the kids are in school monday.

easter cards

I've made another 2 easter cards, i thought i'd make some kids ones this time.

I'm not going to list these ones in my shop or website as there for my kids but if you would like some making then give me a shout.

I'm trying to get everything ready for my first ever craft fair on sunday, i'm a bit scared but i'm sure i'll be ok. I've priced up half of my stuff and i've got to practice setting out my table and get a couple more display stands.

sets

I made these sets last night. I usually just stick to a bracelet or a necklace i don't venture into sets but i think these are lovely. They are silver plated 18" chain the first one has green lampwork beads.

The second is black lampwork beads.

spring is nearly here

As the days are starting to get warmer and signs of spring are starting to show i thought i'd better get on with my summer jewellery.
I made this anklet last night, it is made from shell with tibetan silver butterfly charms.


I also made this necklace for my craft fair next sunday, It's a 16" sterling silver chain with a handmade lampwork bead and swarovski crystals.

trying to get back into the swing of it

It has been about a week since i have properly had a chance to get my beads out and make something. I just haven't been in the mood and with trying to decorate and get the house ready for the valuation i've been to busy. We ended up getting 2 different people in to value the house, the first one valued it for a quick sale and wasn't really happy about putting it up for more. The second one valued the house at 15k more and said to just put it on and wait and see what happens. So the second one it is.

These are a couple of bits i made last night. The first is a silver plated brooch with a lime green cats eye cabochon.

The next one is a silver plated butterfly pendant with purple glass pearls and lilac glass beads.

And lastly is a necklace made with blue glass flower shaped beads with blue glass and silver plated beads.

red nose day

Here are my kids, this picture was taken last night. My son has a do something funny for money day at school today so i bought him this red nose day wig and a red nose.


It took me a few attempts to get it onto my daughter but once she had it on we couldn't get it off her.

need a rest

I haven't stopped this last week, we were supposed to get the house valued on tuesday as were looking to move but we had so much painting and everything else to do we had to put it back until today. Do you ever wish you hadn't started a job? Although we did take a day off and go into town, hubby went to get his football tickets for the liverpool v real madrid game and i got to go to the paper mill shop and get some card making bits. Then we went for a chinese for our dinner and by the time we got home i had to go and get our son from school and the day was nearly over.
I made my first 2 necklaces in a week today the first one is a jasper pendant with jasper chips and tibetan silver beads and toggle.


This one is a amazonite pendant with amazonite beads and chips with sterling silver beads and fastens with a sterling silver hook.



I'm going to list them on my website as soon as i can, I'm off now to make some fairy cakes with my son.

busy painting today

Had a busy day today painting and tiding around. A man is coming from the estate agents on tuesday to value the house. We've found one we like but i'm not sure it will still be there when we sell ours. It has 4 bedrooms which is great as i'll get to have my own craft room. Can't wait!
